One of the most common characteristics of children and young people living in St John’s Hill in the 1930’s was the wearing of overalls to keep their clothes clean while playing and working. These pinafores are illustrated in a number of original photographs and memories expressed by older residents on the estate.  The images are particularly evocative of domestic life on the estate.
